How long does it take Grassports to install a synthetic hockey pitch surface?

The installation timeframe depends on the size and complexity of each the project. The time to construct a new hockey field is influenced by the chosen construction method and surface selected. Some pitches are built over compressed crushed rock with interlocking pre-made shock pad sections, surface grass and sand, whilst other higher grade facilities are often built with an asphalt base, a wet-pour rubber shock pad, surface grass and sand.

What kind of warranty does Grassports offer on its synthetic hockey pitch surfaces?

Our synthetic hockey pitch surfaces typically come with up to a 7 year manufacturer’s warranty. Product and workmanship warranties vary between surfaces. Specific warranty details will be provided for the surface you choose.

Aren’t synthetic hockey pitches hard and unforgiving, increasing the risk of injuries?

Modern synthetic hockey pitches are designed with player safety in mind. They can incorporate shock-absorbing layers and specialised materials that provide a comfortable playing experience comparable to natural turf, minimising the risk of impact injuries. With a significant range of surface options to choose from, we are sure to have a surface that meets your needs.

Do synthetic pitches play like real turf fields?

While early generations of synthetic pitches may have had some limitations, advancements in technology have led to surfaces that closely mimic the performance characteristics of natural turf. Our synthetic pitches are carefully engineered to provide realistic ball roll, player movement, and pace, ensuring an authentic hockey experience. We have the ability to speed up or slow down the speed of your synthetic grass hockey pitch to meet your desired playing characteristics.

Are synthetic pitches only suitable for practice and training, or can they be used for serious matches too?

Our high-performance synthetic pitches are designed to meet the demands of competitive hockey at all levels. They provide a consistent and reliable playing surface that is ideal for both training and matches, even at the professional level.

Are synthetic pitches expensive and only accessible to elite clubs or facilities?

The long-term cost savings in maintenance, water conservation, and reduced downtime can make synthetic grass hockey pitches an attractive and an economical option in the long run. Synthetic pitches also do not need pitch rollers, mowing, or covers. We offer a range of solutions to suit various budgets and needs.

How long will a synthetic pitch last?

With proper care and maintenance, a high-quality synthetic hockey pitch can last for many years, often exceeding the hours of use lifespan of a natural turf pitch. Our pitches are built to withstand heavy use and harsh weather conditions, ensuring long-term durability and performance. With less downtime for maintenance than natural turf pitches, synthetic pitches enable higher and more frequent traffic loads. Optimal use is achieved by encouraging even wear of the surface and always ensuring infill levels are always consistent across the entire playing surface.
