“The synthetic oval has transformed the area… We are delighted with the final appearance…and the logos have come up magnificently on the synthetic turf while providing a full range of sports activities for the students”. – WES HOLLOWAY, PRINCIPAL

Following initial discussions with Oatlands Primary School approximately three years ago, Grassports Australia assisted with design advice, coordinated site visits to other completed successful Grassports projects and met with the school executive team. Our proven track record, industry expertise and reputation shone through and we were awarded the tender through a third party.

A local Australian owned company, using Australian made surfacing solutions, we transformed the school oval, solving drainage issues along the way, into a multipurpose physical education space for the Oatlands Primary 1200 students.

As well as the large school oval, the design includes two four square courts, four hopscotch, a centre cricket wicket, a running track and soccer practice area adjacent to the main oval. Landscaping works included rebuilding the retaining wall with the addition of capping seating next to the playground for easy viewing of the sports field.

Over 6500m2 long pile synthetic grass, suited to soccer and AFL has been used for the oval while a durable 19mm grass was laid for the running track and games areas.

The school will generate income by hiring it to local sporting clubs and we’ve been able to assist by putting them in contact with some of these clubs.
