John Paul College

In another standout collaboration, Grassports Australia was selected to deliver a comprehensive sports facility upgrade for John Paul College in Frankston — a project that has transformed the school’s outdoor spaces into vibrant, multi-sport destinations designed for performance, durability, and student pride.

The mission? To convert dated asphalt courts into state-of-the-art synthetic and acrylic playing surfaces, elevating both the look and usability of the sports precinct. The result is a modern, multi-functional environment now enjoyed by students, staff, and the broader school community.

Phase One: A 4,000m² Multi-Sport Synthetic Marvel

The first stage saw nearly 4,000m² of asphalt courts transformed into Poligras Eco HT synthetic turf, a premium surface renowned for its sustainability, performance, and vibrant aesthetic. Carefully planned and meticulously installed, this field now caters to tennis, netball, and hockey, with dedicated markings and equipment for each sport.

Key Features Include:

🔹 Euro Blue playing field for high visual contrast

🔹 London Blue surrounds for a crisp, professional finish

🔹 White tennis line marking

🔹 Yellow netball line marking

🔹 Subtle green hockey line marking for multi-sport use

🔹 A custom college crest and name integrated into the turf

🔹 4 x netball towers with custom-branded post pads

🔹 1 x pair of hockey goals

🔹 4 x rollaway tennis nets for flexibility and ease of use

This stage not only enhanced playability but added a vibrant new identity to the school’s sports spaces — one that celebrates school spirit while encouraging active participation.

Phase Two: Acrylic Basketball Courts That Shine

The second phase involved the transformation of three asphalt basketball courts into 2,230m² of Laykold acrylic basketball surfaces, installed under a Greenline structure for weather protection and year-round play.

The bold Midnight Blue surrounds, paired with Dark Blue key and playing areas, create a striking visual impact, while the Laykold surface provides exceptional grip, shock absorption, and colour retention — ideal for both competitive games and daily school us
